I had a friend ask me to put in order between Easter, Halloween, and Christmas on who was best for candy. Now this is something that may seem a bit stupid to write about, but I think it’s an interesting thing to think about.
For me, I put Halloween first because there are so many different variations of candy. Some candy companies make new and exciting flavors, for example, Kit Kat made a flavor called Witches Brew. On top of that, there just seems to be a wide variety of mixes that are available to buy. Allowing people to not just get chocolate mixes, but gummy mixes as well as sour mixes. No candy seems to be left behind on Halloween. Now, I know that places make special desserts for Halloween, but who really thinks about desserts around Halloween.
Next, I put Easter because although it seems more of a dessert-based holiday, candy has a hold of this holiday as well. It once again has a wide variety of candy; we go from chocolate to peeps. Plus, we see many different companies use eggs as the main shape for the holiday and random chocolate bunnies being another big holiday candy. For example, Reese’s has an egg-shaped peanut butter cup release this time of the year and I have heard that some people like them more than normal because the ratio is better.
Last but not least, Christmas is the holiday that I think is more of a dessert holiday than a candy holiday. As it feels like candy for this holiday is really only chocolate and that may be put into a stocking stuffer. I just feel like that candy is looked over for the holiday because dessert is the more popular item.
